Tampa Airport Trains
There isn't a railway station at the airport or a connection. However, there is an Amtrak Station in downtown Tampa on 601 Nebraska Avenue. From this station you can take the Silver Service/Palmetto route which covers Tampa/Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville, Savannah, Charleston, Washington DC and New York. On this service you can book sleeping and also there is dining and silver service, business/first class or you can just travel economy.
The trains you will need to take are numbers 89, 90, 91, 92, 97 and/or number 98 and the service operates daily.
You can reach the station from the airport either by taxi/cab, local bus or the Hartline rapid transit bus.
Trains at Tampa Airport
Travelling all the way up to New York will take approximately 25 hours and cost $113. Tampa to Miami is around a 5 and a half hour trip, which will cost around $35. Orlando is around the same time and fare. Tampa to Jacksonville takes around 5 and a half hours and will cost approximately $64. All of the above fares are for one way journeys.
Amtrak often have special deals on offer. They also have reduced fares for Senior Citizens, children and students. You will, of course, have to have proof of identification to receive any of the reduced fares.
Obviously, you can check the Amtrak website for connections from any of the stations that are on this line if you wish to travel to central or west coast American and/or Canada.
