Unfortunately, there isn't a railway/train station at the airport or a connecting service. There is however an Amtrak Bus Station in downtown St Petersburg which serves both Clearwater and St Petersburg where you can take the bus to your train connection.

You can take a taxi, shuttle or bus to downtown St Petersburg to make a bus connection and then onto a train connection from this point.

The nearest Amtrak railway station is at Tampa.  The bus from St Petersburg/Clearwater Bus Station takes approximately 40 minutes.  From Tampa you can then make your Amtrak train connection.  Take the 6092 bus from the station.

Alternatively, you can take another form of transport directly to Tampa from the airport. i.e. taxi or shuttle.

Pinellas Park Square, Clearwater, Florida 33760.

This station offers a throughway connecting service only and is not a main  Amtrak Station.The station is open from 08.00 to 16.00 daily and the ticket office is open from 08.15 to 15.30 daily .Toilets/restrooms are available at the station as are payphones and an enclosed waiting area.

Amtrak have a great network throughout the USA and Canada.  It's worth checking their website which gives information on all their routes and class of travel that is available, particularly on  long distance journeys.
