St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport is located on State Route 686 - Roosevelt Blvd 7km north of St. Petersburg. Interstate 75 leads from points both north and south in Florida to the Tampa Bay area. From Orlando I-4 connects in Tampa with I-275 southbound to St. Petersburg.

Tampa International Airport is only 30 minutes from St. Petersburg and is served by all major airlines. The St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport provides additional passenger services and Albert Whitted Airport in downtown St. Petersburg is a base for private aviation.

St Petersburg is on a peninsula located on Florida's West coast, in an area bordered by the Gulf of Mexico to the west and by Tampa Bay to the east.

The area has 50km of white sandy beaches on eight major barrier islands. The airport is close to some of the major Florida attractions: 30 minutes to Busch Gardens in Tampa and 90 minutes to the Walt Disney World Resort, Sea World and Universal Studios Escape in Orlando.

You will find five of the major car hire/rental companies based at the airport with their desks are situated in the baggage reclaim area. When you arrive at the airport and get to the baggage reclaim area you will find four reclaim belts there.  There are plenty of baggage carts in this area and two public pay phones. The area is relatively small so it is easy to find your way around.

You can be dropped off at the front of the terminal building but you cannot leave a vehicle there unattended.  The short stay car park is available just further along from ticketing/check in on the left side after the car hire car park.

You will be checking in to ticketing/check in A or B, depending on which airline you are travelling with. We also provide details on live flight departures at St Petersburg Airport.

There are taxis and shuttle services from the airport.  They operate across the road from arrivals and baggage reclaim.  Always make sure you know your destination and the approximate travelling distance.  It is always a good idea to agree a price with the taxi driver before you set off if the taxi is not metered. Amtrak offers bus connections to St. Petersburg, and the Greyhound bus system also links to many northern cities. St. Petersburg is served by the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority which provides buses at St Petersburg Airport and the entire county, including access to the beaches.

Unfortunately there no railway/train station at the airport or a connecting service. There is an Amtrak Bus Station in downtown St Petersburg which serves both Clearwater and St Petersburg where you can take the bus to your train connection. We provide details of short and long term car parking at St Petersburg Airport. The car lots are open two hours prior to the first departure of the day and one hour after the last flight arrives.  Cash, Credit Cards, and Debit Cards (Visa and Mastercard) are all accepted for payment.

The offsite car park is located across Roosevelt Blvd. It is not always open so check in advance and the airport will operate a free shuttle service from the remote lot to the terminal.

Suncoast Attractions Store is the airport gift shop selling unique souvenirs from Tampa Bay Area attractions and museums. There is also a newsagents and duty free shops in the terminal. There is an Information Booth/Visitors Information Centre in the baggage reclaim area in the terminal building.  This is easily accessible, either when you are arrive and collect your luggage, or you can access the area from the front of the terminal building or via the outer concourse.
