Travel/tour operators don't give you directions until you arrive at the airport.   This doesn't give you enough time to know your route.  Do your own investigations well before your travel day.

Don't forget your driving licence and those of any additional drivers.  You cannot collect your car without it.

Unless you are travelling alone, it's a good idea to have a co pilot and for them to know the route to your accommodation so they can guide you while you are busy trying to follow the road signs and keep an eye on traffic lights etc.
