Weather at Miami Airport

Miami weatherMiami has a tropical climate with hot and humid summers and warm, dry winters, with an average monthly temperature for any month never having been recorded as under 64.4°F. Most of the year it is warm and humid, with summers almost identical in climate to the Caribbean. It gets most of its rain (and the occasional hurricane) during the summer season from May to October..

A typical summer day has temperatures in the high 80s to low 90s accompanied by high humidity and afternoon sea breezes off the Atlantic Ocean, which lower the temperatures, although conditions can still remain very muggy. During the winter humidity is significantly lower.

Miami receives one of the highest rainfall among major US cities, with average annual rainfall of 58.6 inches and the hurricane season officially running from 1st June to 30th November. Due to its location between two major bodies of water known for tropical activity, Miami is also statistically the most likely major city in the world to be struck by a hurricane with the most dangerous time during the peak of the Cape Verde season from mid-August through to the end of September.
