Not used to driving in the USA.   Below are a few points that can help:

• Before arriving in the USA make sure you  know the route you will take from the airport.  This will save a lot of stress.
• In the States you will be driving on the right side of the road and giving way to traffic coming from the left.
• Undertaking is legal ie:. you may be overtaken on the inside.  This can be a bit hair raising if you aren't use to it.
• Don't attempt undertaking yourself until you are familiar with driving in the USA.
• Speed limits can vary from State to State.  Remember all signs are in miles per hour and not kilometres
• Maximum speed on highways/motorways is 70 mph
• Maximum speed on a highway/motorway outside an urban area which has at least four lanes is 65 mph. If you are unsure, it is best to stick to 60 mph on highways/motorways.
• Built up areas can be as little as 20 mph, so keep an eye out for the speed signs which are in black and white

If you are travelling with children then child restraint seats must be used and children must be situated in the rear of the vehicle.   For 5 years and under a suitable child seat/restraint must be used and fit properly.
