There is a train running from Fort Lauderdale Airport (connection by shuttle bus) which is operated by Tri Rail.  From here you can take the Tri Rail to down town Fort Lauderdale and also other destinations within Broward County (listed below).  You can also make connections to other areas of Florida, including Miami Beach.

The station is located at 200 Terminal Drive.  Shuttle buses operate from the airport to the station from the West end of Terminal 1, between Terminals 2 and 3 and between Terminals 3 and 4

Tickets must be purchased before boarding the train as Tri-Rail fare inspectors randomly check for proof of ticket purchase. Failure to have a valid ticket as proof of purchase is punishable as a criminal offence and will be subject to a fine from $50 to $1000, arrest, and/or removal from the train Tri-Rail accepts US currency, Visa, Mastercard and Discover at all Ticket Vending Machines.

The trains run from down town Fort Lauderdale from 04:56 every half an hour.  The last train is at 21:36.  The journey time to the airport is just a few minutes.

Times from the airport start at 05.03 and the last train is 21:43 running at approximately 30 minute intervals. A return ticket to/from down town Fort Lauderdale to the airport is $5.
