Fort Lauderdale Airport Information for Passengers with Special Needs
Fort Lauderdale Airport is well equipped to deal with disabled and wheelchair travellers.
There are lots of disabled parking bays in all car parks and all shuttle bus stands are beside these parking bays. All shuttle buses have wheelchair access. There are also emergency call boxes in all car parks if assistance is required.
For the hearing impaired you can collect a visual paging monitor for the upper and lower levels of terminals 1 to 4. Amplified telephones are also available throughout the airport.
There are wheelchair friendly toilets throughout all concourses.
Elevators are available to all floors.
Fort Lauderdale Airport Children's Facilities
Currently there are no specific play areas. Remember children should be supervised at all times.
Fort Lauderdale Airport Lost Property
If you have lost or left property on the aircraft then you should contact the airline you have travelled with.
For property lost within the airport go to the Airport Lost and Found Office. Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 08.00 to 12 noon and 13.00 to 17.00 (the office is not open at weekends or Bank Holidays). Telephone (001) 954 350 1200 Email AirportLF@Broward.org.
Lost property will only keep items for 30 days. After that they will be disposed of.
Fort Lauderdale Airport Lost and Left Luggage Facilities
If you have lost your luggage/baggage within the airport building, contact Lost and Found (above). However, if your luggage has been lost in transit and does not arrive on the reclaim belt, you must contact the airline you travelled with or their ground handling agent.
Luggage/Baggage storage locations are available in all terminals. Opening hours vary, depending on the time of year but the luggage storage in Terminal 3 is open every day from 09.00 to 17.30. Telephone (001) 954 394 8001
Fort Lauderdale Airport First Aid/Pharmacy
There isn't a dedicated first aid room or pharmacy at the airport. If you require assistance, contact one of the information/customer service desks, or in an emergency a member of staff.
Fort Lauderdale Airport Money Exchange Facilities and ATM / Cash Points
There is one money/currency exchange opening and that is in Terminal 4 International. It is only open during inbound international flights. There is also a currency exchange facility in Terminal 2.
The currency exchange facilities, cash points, phone cards, Fed Ex Drop off, US Mail drop off, money wire, fax machines and photo copying services can be found in the Business Service Centres. There is one in each terminal.
Fort Lauderdale Airport VIP Lounges
There is a VIP Lounge at the airport. It is located in the Continental Presidents Club in Terminal 1, after security. It is next to Gate C 1 on the mid level.
Opening hours: every day 05.30 to 20.30
The lounge offers the usual facilities such as refreshments, including alcoholic drinks, conference facilities, internet, newspapers and magazines. Telephones, TV. Disabled access. There is a maximum 3 hour stay.
The facility is non smoking. Children under 12 are permitted but must be accompanied by an adult. You can pre book on : www.loungepass.com Prices are around $20 per person, per visit
There is also a free customer lounge in Terminal 3, next to Concourse E security. This lounge is open to all passengers. There is a good viewing area from this lounge.
