Fort Lauderdale Airport Information

Florida Airport Guide InformationFort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is located in Dania Beach 5km southwest of the centre of Fort Lauderdale and 8km from the beaches. It is near to Hollywood and 40km north of Miami.

The airport connects to the Florida Turnpike, I-95, I-595 and US Route 1. Take the State Road 84 or the I-595 and turn onto SW 29 Avenue for the Park N Save car park, or follow US Route 1 south to the airport Perimeter Road for the economy car park.

Fort Lauderdale is currently the fastest-growing major airport in the United States and its close proximity to the cruise line terminals at Port Everglades has made it popular for travellers bound for the Caribbean.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport has four terminals. Terminal 1 is usually referred to as the new terminal and it opened in stages between 2001 and 2003. The other three terminals were constructed in the mid-1980's as part of a $263 million construction project. Terminal 4 is the International Terminal which was officially opened by a visit from Concorde in 1983.

Passengers arriving at Terminal 1 who are planning to hire a car should follow the signage to the Concourse B Pedestrian Bridge. All other terminals have a shuttle bus service located on the baggage claim level that ferries passengers to the Car Rental Centre.

Florida Airport Guide ArrivalsOn arrival at the airport you will be located on Level I, at one of the four terminal buildings.  Terminals 1 to 3 handle domestic flights and terminal 4 International.
