Weather at Daytona Beach Airport
The city of Daytona Beach is split in two by the Halifax River Lagoon and sits on the Atlantic Ocean.
Daytona Beach has a humid and subtropical climate which is typical of the southeastern United States. Summers are hot and humid with highs usually in the 90s and a heat index which often exceeds 100ºF. Thunderstorms are frequent on summer afternoons and the hot, humid weather can last right through the autumn months.
The winters are dry and mild, with temperatures dipping into the low 30s and upper 20s on occasions, and freezing conditions are not uncommon. Frost occurs mainly in the inland areas a few times a year, but is rare along the beaches. Snowfall is very rare, but having said that the last time snow flurries fell on the city of Daytona Beach was in January 2008.
Temperatures in spring are very pleasant with warm afternoons, cool evenings and far less humid. This beach-going weather attracts tourists in early March.
